Baby, It's Cold Outside

Had to make an emergency trip back to the IL.  I found it kind of exciting to celebrate my first white Christmas.  However, the weather was bitterly cold and I had to bundle up.  Thanks to Jina who made me this lovely beanie, I can keep warm and listen to my ipod.  She actually attached headphones to the knit headphones. Genius.

here i am pictured with two of my fave very stylish twins, Justine to the left and Julienne to my right. it's the only shot i have from our annual christmas party where you can see some detail on my dress. it was a great find at f21! who would have thought that they had cute lace stuff? well, they do. you should grab some before they have no more. i seriously heart lace. i was so excited to find out that it is now in style and that there is plenty of options out there to choose from. especially at a good price.

anywho, our christmas party was tons of fun. lots of food and conversating. we had two white elephants. one was a creative $10 gift and the other a re-gift. i ended up with a dvd from each round. the ever so christmas-y "elf" and "the hangover." i was happy.

my second day home in so cal, i celebrated my birthday with my west coast peeps. first had this oh so delicious brazilian dinner with jina and our 2 friends. here's a really dark picture from my phone. i got the steak. oh man i was so full after this dinner. it soaked up all the alcohol i drank later. so i was an expensive date that night.

we ended up all going to the echo in echo park after. it was a cool joint. they played funk music all night. many a dancer were there, so the dancefloor was packed. it was a pretty warm la night. i lucked out on not having to dress warmer. it was so nice compared to the teen degree weather i had been accustomed to as of late. anyways, good times with all the homies was had.

i had a work event last week, so i was a little bit dressier than i usually am going into work. if you think of this as dressy. i love the turquoise color. i haven't worn this dress in forever, but it still looks good.

after my work event i stumbled upon the "it's complicated" premiere. meryl streep came out into the crowd and shook hands with fans (including me)! got a pic of her. she's really pretty in person and seemed really nice to everyone.

it's a brunch and pretty casual right? so why not wear one of your many pairs of leggings. oh maybe one of your fancy sequin-y ones with a more casualish tee and one of your many ankle boots.

cute! or how about a cute little dress (that blue chiffon?), but dressed down a bit. with pretty tights and wedges/ankle boots. you do have millions of dresses after all. maybe pair something cute and girly with something hardcore. leather biker jacket?

thanksgiving...part deux

i know i'm a bit late on this post but....HAPPY THANKSGIVING! this was the first year in something like 15 years my (extended) family hasn't met up for the holiday. and we do it up big...2 turkeys, a ham, all the fixins...sigh. the most traditionally american thanksgiving dinner from the most traditional korean family. haha. alas, maybe next year.

anyhoo, my parents, brother, and i ended up going out to dinner (prime rib!!) and made the most of it. a good time was had by all.

please excuse my lame picture. it's hard to look cool when taking a picture with your phone in front of your closet. also, half my face is missing.
